紙を生成する過程でその密度や強度を出すため細かくする繊維を、あえて粗いままにし、その粗い繊維がダマになる性質を活かしたテクスチャーを模索。色の違いや模様をつけることで、よりダマらしさを強調した。

The fibers are normally finely divided to make the paper smooth, but by intentionally leaving them coarse, we sought to create a unique texture that takes advantage of the ability of these coarse fibers to form into balls.

「まにあわせ」

耐久性、施工性、経済性、安全性など、様々な条件をクリアしなければならない仕上げ建材。それらの条件を一旦横に置き、「間に合わせ(=仮定の物でその役に立てる/ その空間に合わせる)」をキーワードに、新しい仕上げ表現を探求する試み。

Finishing building materials must meet a variety of conditions, such as durability, ease of construction, economy, safety, etc. Setting these conditions aside for the moment, this project explores new finishing expressions with the keyword "MANIAWASE(=hypothetical items that can be used for a purpose / fitting into the space)".
